on a new leaf...

Malls -we all know about such places by now ,probably because they tend to pop up at the most busiest junctions in the city.
Inorbit mall is one such example ,its truly a one shop stop for all your needs, be it groceries, clothes, food, gaming gadgets, electronic gizmos (sigh!!!)

But ofcourse each of the above with its own hefty price tag.I have been to inorbit many times , what i was not aware of is the fact that, this time there will be a slight change ,frankly speaking inorbit is one place where i prefer to stick my tongue out and wag my tail like a dog while looking at the showcase windows of the varied shops in the mall, literally begging at the cookie shops for one more sample of that delicious chocolate cream dipped cookie chip.

Ah!! anyways ,

As i was walking along gazing at the shops ,i came across a display of paintings , these paintings looked pretty simple in nature they did not hide anything ,revealed exactly what the painter thought of while drawing it, which could somehow be interpret very easily ,because they sure seemed logical and could be related to with ease- things like night life in the city ,greenery after the first shower of rain, women working in the village were conveyed by them as if they had the power to speak to people.

Although i never understood paintings very much or probably never made an effort to bother about such things, but this set of paintings however was of a different style ,a unique example in itself.Below it were a few words about the person who drew it "Paintings by Shashank Mittal from The Doon School,Dehradun".The name suggested to me that he must be a big time painter in his early forties.
Surrounding the gallery at one end were a bunch of boys talking amongst themselves,so with the thought of commenting at the paintings, i looked for the visitors log , and i asked one of the boys as he came forward ,since i looked curious "so you are looking after paintings eh?" he replied yes, so i asked him do you know the painter and he said "i am the painter, i am Shashank mittal"
jee i had never met a painter before ,so i was a bit enthralled by seeing his confidence and i did my best to encourage him further by admiring his work.

Thats how the conversation began and it so turned out that, he was otherwise a regular guy studying in XII std. (science stream) aspiring to get into the N.I.D.(National Institute of Design) in Ahmedabad .
I wished him the best for his dreams and goals and i told him that he would definitely get into the N.I.D.

And so for the first time i left inorbit by taking home something unique and yet free of cost- i.e. some of his paintings in my camera phone.
